Importing from AniWave

To successfully import your AniWave watchlist into AniList, follow these detailed steps:

1. Export Your AniWave Watchlist:

   • Begin by exporting your AniWave watchlist. You can do this in various formats, including a simple .txt file. If you do not have an export option available, you may need to create a temporary account on MyAnimeList (MAL) to facilitate the import process.

2. Transfer Your Watchlist to MyAnimeList (Temporary Step):

   • Create a temporary account on MyAnimeList using a disposable email address to ensure your privacy.
   • Once your account is set up, import your AniWave watchlist into this temporary MAL account. This step is crucial as it serves as an intermediary for transferring your data.

3. Export Your Watchlist from MyAnimeList to AniList:

   • After successfully importing your watchlist into MAL, log in to your temporary account.
   • Navigate to the "Anime" section and locate the "Export Data" option.
   • Select your preferred export format (either XML or plain text) and download the file to your device.
   • Next, log in to your AniList account.
   • Click on your profile picture in the top right corner, go to "Settings," and select the "Import & Export" tab.
   • Choose the "Import Data" option and upload the file you downloaded from MAL.
   • AniList will process the uploaded data, and your watchlist should now be updated accordingly.

Importing from AniWatch/HiAnime

To import your HiAnime list into AniList, follow these steps:

1. Export from Zoro/Aniwatch to MyAnimeList:

   • Visit the Zoro or AniWatch website and export your anime watchlist in the MAL XML format.
   • You can utilize the ZorotoMAL app for this purpose, which simplifies the process of transferring your watchlist to MyAnimeList. Access the app here.
   • After exporting, proceed to the next step.

2. Manually Add Entries to MyAnimeList:

   • Open the exported XML file from Zoro/Aniwatch on your device.
   • Review the anime entries listed in the file and manually add them to your MyAnimeList account one by one.
   • While this method can be time-consuming, especially for larger watchlists, it is the official and most reliable way to ensure all entries are accurately recorded.

3. Alternative Approach Using MALSync:

   • If you prefer a more automated method, you can try using the MALSync browser extension:
     • Install the MALSync extension from your browser's extension store.
     • Configure the extension by linking both your MyAnimeList and AniList accounts.
     • Utilize the sync feature to transfer your watchlist data seamlessly. Note that this method may not always work perfectly, so proceed with caution.

4. Export from MyAnimeList to AniList:

   • Once you have completed adding your watchlist entries on MyAnimeList, export the updated list from your MAL account.
   • Return to your AniList account settings.
   • Select the "Import & Export" option and upload the MAL XML file you just exported.
   • AniList will process the data, and your watchlist should now reflect all your imported entries accurately.
